Introduction Ceremony (Kwanjula)
The most significant Ugandan wedding event. The groom's family — led by a spokesperson (Ssenga) — formally introduces itself, presents gifts, and asks the bride's family for her hand. Guests wear stunning gomesi (women) and kanzu (men). Expect drumming, storytelling, and feasting on rolex, posho, and matoke.
Church / Mosque Ceremony
A religious ceremony following the Kwanjula, conducted by a priest, pastor, or imam. Formal dress applies.
Reception
A lively celebration with Ugandan music, roasted goat, Nile Special beer, and a crowd that loves to dance.
