Overview
Hubb Invite helps event hosts send Save the Date messages, RSVP reminders and confirmations, and event-day details by SMS and email. Hosts are responsible for ensuring that each recipient may lawfully receive those messages.
CASL Compliance
For event invitations sent through Hubb Invite, hosts are expected to send messages only to people with whom they have an existing relationship or another lawful basis to communicate. In many cases, this will involve implied consent arising from a personal relationship, family relationship, wedding or event participation context, or a direct guest invitation.
Hubb Invite does not authorize the use of the platform for unsolicited marketing, bulk cold outreach, list rentals, or unrelated promotional communications.
Consent
Guests do not sign up to Hubb Invite themselves. The event host asks each guest before adding them, usually in person or by phone. We suggest hosts ask:
“We're using Hubb Invite for our wedding. Can I add your mobile number so you get our save the date, RSVP reminders and day-of details by text? Msg & data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP anytime.”
Before a guest can be added or imported, the host must tick an unchecked box confirming they have consent to message that guest. Our servers require this confirmation, not only the form, so a guest cannot be added without it.
SMS Messages
Every SMS relates to one specific event the recipient has been invited to. Depending on the host's settings, a guest may receive:
- a Save the Date;
- RSVP reminders ahead of the host's RSVP deadline;
- a confirmation after they RSVP;
- a thank-you if they decline, which may include a link to send the couple a gift when the couple has turned on gifting;
- on the day of the event, the time, venue and address for guests who are attending, which may include a link to send the couple a card and gift when the couple has turned on gifting;
- on the day of the event, and only when the couple has turned on gifting, a short note to guests who declined with the same card and gift link.
Message frequency varies with the host's event timeline. Message and data rates may apply.
The Save the Date, normally the first text a guest receives, ends with: Sent via Hubb Invite. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out. Later messages end with: Reply STOP to opt out.
- Reply STOP (or ARRET) to unsubscribe. An opt-out applies to every event sent through Hubb Invite, not only the current one.
- Reply START to resubscribe.
- Reply HELP (or AIDE) for help.
Email Messages
Email communications sent through Hubb Invite include:
- A reason the recipient is receiving the email.
- Identification that the message is being sent for the event host using Hubb Invite.
- A direction to contact the event host or Hubb Invite to stop future event emails.
Hosts should not remove or obscure compliance-related footer content that Hubb Invite adds to guest-facing event emails.
Host Identification
The event host is the primary sender for invitation purposes. Hubb Invite acts as the service provider used to deliver the message. Recipients should be able to tell that the communication relates to a specific host or event and that Hubb Invite is the platform used to send it.
Recipient Questions
Recipients who have questions about why they were contacted should first contact the event host. They may also contact Hubb Invite at privacy@hubbinvite.com for assistance with privacy, opt-out, or communication concerns.
