A formal engagement ceremony where both families gather, the couple exchange rings (cut from a red ribbon with scissors), and prayers and tea are shared. This is the official declaration of intent.
Kına Gecesi (Henna Night)
A women-only celebration the night before the wedding. The bride wears a red veil and traditional dress, gold coins are placed in her hands, and henna is applied to weeping and laughter — symbolizing the bittersweet transition to married life.
