Civil or Church Ceremony
Either a Catholic ceremony in a historic church or a civil ceremony at the town hall. Italian church weddings feature elaborate organ music, incense, and full Mass. Guests dress elegantly — Italians take wedding fashion seriously.
Confetti Throwing & Cortège
After the ceremony, guests throw sugared almonds (confetti) — symbolizing the bittersweet nature of life — over the couple. A procession of honking cars follows as the wedding party moves to the reception venue.
