  1. Khastegari (Formal Proposal)

    The groom's family visits the bride's family to formally propose. Over Persian sweets and tea, both sides get to know each other and negotiate the terms of the union.

  2. Aghd (Marriage Contract)

    The formal Zoroastrian or Islamic marriage ceremony held before the sofreh-ye aghd — an elaborate wedding spread of symbolic items including herbs, a mirror, candles, eggs, coins, and sweets. The officiant asks the bride three times before she consents. A stunning, solemn ceremony.

  3. Jashn-e Aroosi (Wedding Reception)

    A lavish Persian reception with live music, Persian classical or pop performances, and tables of chelo kabab, ghormeh sabzi, and saffron rice. Expect elegantly dressed guests, heartfelt toasts, and dancing deep into the night.
