Stefana Crowning (Greek Orthodox Ceremony)
The Orthodox priest places and exchanges floral crowns (stefana) on the couple's heads three times, symbolizing their shared crown as king and queen of their home. The couple also takes three sips of wine and circles the altar three times. An ancient, deeply moving ceremony.
Money Dance
Guests pin money directly onto the bride and groom's clothing as they dance — a time-honoured way of offering financial gifts and well-wishes. The couple literally wears their gifts.
Wedding Reception (Γάμος)
A boisterous Greek celebration with live bouzouki music, sirtaki dancing, and a lavish spread of mezedes — spanakopita, souvlaki, moussaka, and baklava. Opa! Plates may be smashed for luck.
