Hen / Stag Do
Separate celebrations for the bride (hen do) and groom (stag do) with their respective friends, usually a weekend away or a night out. Expect fancy dress, laughter, and stories that will be told for years.
Wedding Ceremony
A Church of England, Catholic, or civil ceremony at a register office or licensed venue. The ceremony includes readings, vows, and often a hymn or two. Guests traditionally throw confetti outside.
Wedding Breakfast
Despite the name, the wedding breakfast is a formal three-course lunch or dinner immediately after the ceremony. Speeches from the father of the bride, the best man, and the groom are the highlight.
Evening Reception
Additional guests join for the evening party — a buffet, cake, first dance, and DJ or ceilidh (traditional Scottish/Irish dancing). The party continues until midnight or beyond.
